Memorial Day Weekend With the Peavey Family

When I last took pictures of the Peavey Family, Forrest was only 8 months old.  Fast forward two years and this handsome little fella is now big brother to beautiful little Riley.  I'm fortunate to have had the opportunity to do another family shoot for Peavey Family.  I was so excited about the shoot that I started go through the images as soon as I got home.  Here are just a few of my favorites from today's shoot.

Point Santa Cruz Mother's Day Shoot

What a perfectly beautiful Mother's Day weekend!  Chris surprised Lory with a Mother's Day shoot in beautiful Santa Cruz.  This old lighthouse houses a surf museum and overlooks Steamer Lane. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

Caleb's Smash Cake Session

I can't believe how quickly the past year has gone by. My little baby is now one! We bought a mini ice cream cake for him and he loved it! When the cake was set in front of him, he was unsure of what to do so he started taking the blue frosting and finger painting his leg with it. He had a blast with his smash cake (big sister enjoyed it as well)!

I love newborn photography but it has to be one of most difficult types of sessions. Somehow, they always know that you want him or her to sleep so they try to stay up as long as they can so they don't miss out on any of the action.  Once you get the little one into his or her deep sleep, you never know how much time you have or if the slightest movement or change of position could wake baby up. It's all worth the extra work in the end.
