Tears, Laughter, and Love

Yesterday, I shot a Holiday Session for the M Family. The session started out great, but while taking a few shots of Mr. And Mrs. M, Madeline somehow got several huge splinters in her hand. With no set of tweezers handy, Mrs. M put a bandaid on her hand and we hoped that Madeline would forget about the splinters for at least the next 45 minutes. Madeline tried her best to brave through the session smiling for the shots and crying in between.  By the end of the session, splinters were a distant memory and Madeline was all smiles again.

Before the tears:

The Obenzaban's Precious Addition

I love shooting during the "golden hour" but we were really racing with time and the elements during this shoot.  What you don't see is the strong winds and the goosebumps from this chilly Indian Summer evening.  I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to document the Obenzaban's maternity and newborn memories for both Lucas and Chloe.

And baby makes four...

On Sunday morning the weather around here was wet and dreary.  I was afraid that this shoot was not going to pan out.  With Cathy at 35 weeks, our weekends were getting pretty limited.  Luckily, the clouds cleared and gave way to a beautiful sunset.  We definitely used the natural light to our advantage.  It was freezing out, but from the pictures you could hardly tell...

Tis the season...

This year seemed to rush on by so quickly.  Before I knew it, the holidays were coming up and just in time for holiday cards I shot a few family portrait sessions.  Here are some highlights from those sessions...

Baby Grace

Angelic Baby Grace was only 7 days old when I took these pictures.  Newborns are so much easier to take pictures of when they are only days old.  She slept through the whole session!

The Takamori Family

While on vacation this summer, I got to shoot a few portraits for my best friend's family.   The photos were taken in picturesque Hawaii Kai...enjoy!
